NEW YORK, January 2009 – Michael Stolper has joined Atlantic Development Group, one of New York City’s leading developers of residential and mixed-use properties, as executive vice president and general counsel. Mr. Stolper will be responsible for handling all legal matters for the firm as well as overseeing special assignments under the direction of the company’s principals.

Michael’s legal and business expertise will certainly help us to keep moving forward. Over the last 18 months, he has worked with us on various issues and is familiar with Atlantic’s internal operations. We expect Michael to jump into his new role and get involved in a variety of projects right away.”
Mr. Stolper was previously a partner in the New York City office of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP. During his 10 years with Orrick, Mr. Stolper specialized in commercial litigation and legal strategic and crisis management. He led significant assignments at both the trial and appellate levels.
Prior to that, he spent five years with law firm Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine. Mr. Stolper’s professional career also includes serving as an assistant to the special advisor of Hispanic Affairs under the administration of former New York City Mayor Edward I. Koch and as a grant writer for the Hispanic Federation of New York.
He is a member of the American Bar Association, Association of the Bar of the City of New York, New York State Bar Association and the Puerto Rican Bar Association. He serves as general counsel to the board of directors of Amber Charter School and represents the Audubon Partnership for Economic Development. Mr. Stolper, 41, graduated from Princeton University and Columbia Law School.
